CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: EMS World Expo 2020

We are now accepting session proposals for consideration for the 2020 EMS World Expo, scheduled for Sept. 14 – Sept. 18, 2020, in Las Vegas, NV.

The EMS World Expo conference program features timely, progressive, educationally-sound topics that are relevant to all levels of EMS providers, critical care and mobile integrated healthcare providers, educators, nurses, physicians and medical directors, EMS administrators and managers.

Sessions will be categorized into one of the following educational tracks: BLS, ALS, Critical Care, Educator, Leadership, Mobile Integrated Healthcare-Community Paramedicine, Pediatrics/Geriatrics/Special Populations and Management/Operations.

The majority of the main conference sessions at EMS World Expo are 60 minutes, including Q&A. A smaller number of sessions are 30 or 75 minutes.

Pre- or post-conference workshops can be 2 days or 1 day, 4 hours or 8 hours in length.

You may propose single-speaker sessions, group sessions, and/or panel discussions. Speakers may submit more than one proposal for any type of session, but the maximum number of total submissions is five (5), so choose your best work. Speakers typically present several sessions at EMS World Expo, so we encourage multiple submissions per speaker.
Session proposals are due by December 2, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST!

Submit your presentation(s) by logging in below by December 2, 2019, at 11:59 PM via this Abstract Scorecard submission site. You will receive an e-mail notification of the decision on or before Feb. 24, 2020. A separate speaker agreement will be required if your presentation proposal is accepted.

Please note that e-mailed session proposals will NOT be considered. Speakers are not permitted to promote or market a product, company or service in their presentations.

Checklist
Among other things, your proposal must include:
  • A description and rough course outline of your prospective conference session including 3-5 learning objectives;
  • 2-3 sample slides to give an example of your slide design and content abilities;
  • A short bio describing your education and experience in EMS (to be used in promotional materials);
  • A detailed explanation of why you are qualified to speak on these particular proposed topics;
  • The names and post-nominals of each speaker

Tips and Guidelines for Successful Session Proposals
  • Top consideration is given to new, high-quality and/or timely topics not previously presented at EMS World Expo or other national/regional conferences;
  • Strong consideration will be given to sessions that focus on solutions and best practices for both field providers and EMS leaders;
  • Your session description should answer the following: What will attendees gain from this session? What are the learning objectives? What will attendees take home to their place of employment?

Members of the Program Advisory Committee evaluate all proposed sessions using the following criteria:
  • Overall quality (submissions must not contain spelling/grammar/usage errors);
  • Relevance to the EMS community;
  • Well-defined focus within the program track structure;
  • Practical applications of material;
  • Timeliness of the topic;
  • Speaker qualifications for the topic itself.
