Welcome to the 2019 CampusConnex Call for Speakers and Presentations

NAA is in the process of entirely re-imagining this conference to support the needs of our members and improve the attendee experience, and we are working to build a fresh experience for CampusConnex 2019. While we are currently reformulating our approach and execution strategy, we know that we will need industry expertise in the form of awesome collaborative partners.

Therefore, we seek enthusiastic industry players with innovative ideas, fresh approaches to challenges, and dedication to excellence within student housing. Performance driven industry experts are encouraged to submit a written proposal through our online platform by October 15, 2018, 11:59 p.m. EST.

CampusConnex will be held February 12-13, 2019 at the Omni Hotel & Resort at Championsgate in Orlando. Speakers selected from this process will receive a complimentary full-conference registration ($950 value) to 2019 CampusConnex.

NEW IN 2019!
  • There are two ways to be considered as a subject matter expert for CampusConnex in 2019. You can apply to speak on a pre-determined discussion or generate your own original session and choose your co-presenters. Details follow below.
  • Content should be developed for an audience of regional directors and above.
  • Panels are great, but so are solo presenters and teams of co-presenters in twos or threes.
  • Breakout sessions are being truncated to 45 minutes. Make greater impact in less time! Be brief in defining the problem, and robust in exploring solutions.

  • If you are generating your own original session, here are some topics to consider:
  • Human Resources - Recruiting, Training, Retention, Motivation
  • Leasing
  • Legal Issues
  • Value-add Strategies
  • International Student Sector
  • University Relations and Partnerships
  • Financing Trends
  • Student Health and Safety (including mental health and suicide)
  • Amenities
  • Technology
  • Social Media
  • Generational Research
  • Parental considerations when selecting off-campus housing
  • Executive
  • Leadership
  • Marketing
  • Research

    Guidelines governing submissions and selection:

Please read all instructions carefully. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Our first preference is to maximize peer interaction between representative owner/manager companies. We recognize that in certain expert areas, consultants and suppliers have comprehensive and cutting-edge information and encourage speaker proposals from both communities. NAA retains the right to select speakers as it sees fit, based upon the projected value that the proposed speaker brings to a specific topic. Presentation proposals MUST include at least one owner/operator.

An individual may be proposed for a maximum of three sessions (either three Call for Presentations or three Call for Speakers or a combination of both totaling three). Any proposals beyond the maximum of three will be immediately rejected. Only the first three submitted will be considered.

A company may propose a maximum of three sessions (either three Call for Presentations or three Call for Speakers or a combination of both totaling three).

The number of sessions that an individual and/or company will be allowed to present upon will be limited to two. This includes appearances as a presenter, panelist or moderator.

To be considered, potential speakers must submit all requested information via the online form. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted or reviewed. No paper documents or emails will be accepted.

The submission deadline is Monday, October 15, 2018 (11:59 p.m. ET). There will be no extensions or exceptions.

    Submission Evaluation and Selection
The CampusConnex Education Advisory Board will review, evaluate and score submissions using the following criteria:
    • Relevance to the student housing market
    • Intelligent and clearly articulated submission materials with achievable learning objectives
    • Presenter/Speaker qualifications
    • Provides useful information that attendees can apply to daily work life
    • Appropriate to an advanced audience targeting regional directors and above

NAA considers our speakers to be collaborative partners in the promotion of our event. See details in the Policies Governing Accepted Proposals for more information.
