Abstract Submission Deadline: July 8, 2019
The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery invites you to contribute to the ISASS20 scientific program by submitting an abstract for presentation.
You do not have to be an ISASS member to submit an abstract or proposal.
All abstracts will be blindly evaluated by the program committee and reviewers. Papers can be accepted for either podium, oral or poster presentations. The abstracts accepted for the program will be published in the ISASS20 Mobile App.
Abstract submissions that have been presented at other conferences will be accepted. Submissions that have been submitted for publication but have not been published prior to submission will also be accepted.
ISASS strongly supports original, hypothesis driven research. Therefore, we will prioritize original research studies over retrospective, database analyses (such as Nationwide Inpatient Sample, National Surgical Quality Improvement Project, Pearldiver, etc). We recommend that the authors of retrospective database analyses carefully include the search criteria, eligible patient populations, outcome variables, and percentage of missing data for each study. ISASS will also prioritize retrospective database studies that include more than one database with the same results.
We are also taking submissions for symposia to be held during the conference. After logging into the site, you will see further instructions for submitting an abstract or proposal for a symposium. We suggest the following elements on symposia proposals:

- Target audience (for example: International spine surgeons 1-5 years in practice)
- Statement of need (for example: Major technology changes have occurred in the past 1-2 years)
- Uniqueness (for example: This topic has not been discussed at one of the three previous ISASS meetings. This topic was also very well received in a debate at North American Spine Society)
- Two to three Symposium Goals (for example: The audience members will learn about technical errors in spine navigation)
- Symposium Format (Debate, Case review, Didactic)
- Audience response needs (Yes/No)
