Sharing the Vision: Navigating the Future Workforce Together

We’re seeking breakout presentations for Washington Workforce Association’s annual fall conference.

Conference overview: Workforce professionals, business leaders, and labor leaders come together to learn best practices, network with one another, and take home solutions that can help put learning into action.

Breakouts can be either 75 or 90 minutes long, and should address one of the following five learning session themes:

  1. Partnerships and Engagements: With Business and Job Seeker Customers
  2. Performance and Operations
  3. Impacts of Technology
  4. All Means All: Equity and Inclusion Strategies
  5. Self-Care

Learning Session Goals:

  • Show how innovative partnerships and engagement strategies are reshaping workforce development in Washington.
  • Share solutions for meeting the diverse needs of all customers.
  • Strengthen the system’s ability to understand the skills needed in the changing workplace.
  • Learn how local areas are working together to better leverage their programs in a coordinated way.
  • Gain a clearer understanding of the state’s workforce system, progress, and successes under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and the state’s workforce plan, Talent and Prosperity for All (TAP).

We are looking for interactive breakout sessions that involve active learning. Conference participants should go home inspired while gaining practical tools to apply what they learn.

The attached Presentation Guide provides examples of objectives and content for the five themes. Remember, these are suggestions only. Please submit proposals related to the five themes in a way that makes sense to you and your audience.
