The Financial Planning Association (FPA) is pleased to announce its Call for Speakers for Retreat 2019.
What We’re Looking For
Our goal with Retreat is to deliver advanced-level, cutting-edge content to our participants. Retreat is a curated experience and our volunteer Retreat Task Force will review each submission; however, we are only able to accommodate proposals that best meet our content and programming needs.
- NOW (Current): What critical issues or challenges currently face the financial planning profession?
- NEXT (Looking Ahead): What trends are coming next for the financial planning profession?
- KNOW (How To): What skills are needed now and in the future for the financial planning profession?
While proposals on a wide variety of topics will be accepted, the Retreat Task Force has developed a Content Map for preferred topics for this event. Priority review will be given to program proposals under the following topic headings:

Who Should Submit?
If you’re passionate about the financial planning profession or you’re a passionate financial planner with insights on other topics, you’re encouraged to add your voice to the conversation at Retreat 2019. That said, regardless of your status – Retreat veteran, regular speaker, NexGen planner, we’re interested in hearing from you.
Deadline for Submissions
The Call for Speakers is now open, and proposals are due by 5:00 pm [EST] on Friday, October 26, 2018. Speaker selections will be made in November and sessions/speakers will be announced in December 2018.

About the Event
The distinctive tradition, flavor and format of FPA Retreat are what truly separate the event from other financial conferences. Structured sessions provide useful information and educational opportunities, and the pure learning and sharing environment of the gathering ensures that participants can find equally valuable insight through attendee-led Under the Trees discussions, conversations during breaks, in sharing meals with their peers and late-night conversations.
