Here are some topic ideas collected from past attendees:
- More presentations from those in the field doing the work. How do you overcome the challenges of implementation?
- More marketing strategies for energy efficiency.
- More commercial projects and techniques.
- Creating affordable housing for middle and low-income Vermonters, and renovation of current housing stock.
- Lower cost ventilation strategies for multi-family buildings.
- Weatherization
- Environmentally friendly materials
- Slides should have fewer words, more pictures.
- Big fonts and main ideas are ideal.
- Discuss specific products while avoiding self-promotion or sales presentations.
- Length of session and number of slides should correspond. Ideally no more than one slide per minute (total of 90 per session, unless there is an extended session or there are a lot of photos to tell the story).
- All members of panel sessions must be assembled and engaged in participation. Panels should not be created after a session is accepted.
- Please do not submit a session for the purpose of a placeholder to present a project that will complete between now and the conference. Only complete and ready to present topics will be considered for acceptance in the program.
- All submitters will be notified of their acceptance in late August/early September.
- If you need to withdraw your submission, please contact Amanda Grant at agrant@veic.org.
