PRESENTATION TYPES
Oral - Submissions will be evaluated for either a full-length or quickshot podium presentation. For full-length and quickshot presentations, manuscript submission to the Journal of Surgical Education is mandatory. In case your abstract is not chosen for a podium presentation, it will automatically be considered for an ePoster presentation.
ePoster - Submissions will be considered for a non-podium presentation. Manuscript submission to the Journal of Surgical Education is encouraged though not required.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CHECKLIST
- Principal Contact and Presenter Information
- List of Co-authors (all co-authors must submit disclosure information)
- Abstract body (less than or equal to 500 words)
- 1 photo/chart/table optional (.jpg only)
- No reference to the authors or the institution should appear within the body of the abstract
AWARDS
APDS is proud to offer Outstanding Trainee Awards during Surgical Education Week. These awards recognize excellence in research and presentation skills by a trainee. If the presenter of an abstract will be a Fellow, Resident or Medical Student at the time of the 2024 Surgical Education Week, the submission will qualify for this award opportunity. Please indicate eligibility within.
TOOLS OF THE TRADE
We will announce the call for Tools of the Trade separately and at a future date.
APDS DUPLICATE SUBMISSION POLICY
Abstracts will not be considered or allowed to present if they have been previously presented, published, or are currently submitted with pending decision on acceptance elsewhere in international or national meetings. All accepted presenters must also register as attendees for the 2024 APDS Annual Meeting and attend in-person, barring extenuating circumstances.
All submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process to ensure impartial evaluation and maintain the highest standards of quality and fairness.
