WIND 2026 Call for Presentations
This year WIND is dedicated to re-engaging and re-connecting the insurance industry. With that goal in mind, WIND is taking a new approach to the presentations at the 2026 conference to provide the attendees and speakers with a more focused educational experience.
The WIND 2026 Conference Committee is seeking educational-oriented speaker submissions for the annual Windstorm Insurance Conference, which will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, FL. Workshops will be scheduled for February 26 & 27, 2026; we are seeking speakers on the following topics:
- Insurance Policy Interpretation
- The Impact of AI on Insurance Claims
- Mitigating the Loss: What is It and the Impacts on the Claim
- The Ins and Outs of Flood Claims
- Integration of Florida Statutes into the Policy: A practical perspective (condo statutes, repair statutes, etc.)
- Arbitration: The Role of the Adjuster, Client, Expert and Attorney in the non-binding and binding arbitration process
- Damage Assessments: A discussion regarding the method, means and pricing of a loss. Presentation should also discuss valuation, what pricing should be utilized, how to assess overhead and profit, depreciation, etc.
- Building The Claim: The tools, people, and resources available to the parties to assist in the claim investigation, handling, presentation, etc. from a real-life perspective regarding the sources of information and how to properly use them
- Understanding the Unique: The presentation should focus on unique and new claims handling processes, policy provisions, procedures, etc.
- Financial Losses: How to handle business income, extra expense and other financial losses from a practical perspective and in conjunction with the applicable policy provisions
Submissions will ONLY be considered if there is a full and balanced panel representing both the policyholder and the insurance company perspectives.
WIND will only be selecting one course submission from each of the topics listed above. Each session will be 60 minutes.
To complete a submission, you will need the contact information and qualifications for proposed speakers, a workshop title and description, learning objectives, and a session outline. You can start your submission, save it, and return later to submit it.
Panels should NOT contain more than one speaker from the same organization/firm.
Note: WIND does not cover any speaker costs, however Speakers do receive a discounted registration price.
The planning committee will review submissions and contact speakers with additional questions or confirmation by May 31, 2025.
Submit your proposal by April 3, 2025.
