Welcome to the AIUM 2020 Abstract Submission Site

The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine invites all members and nonmembers to submit abstracts for the AIUM 2020 Meeting. The meeting will be held March 21–25, 2020, at the New York Hilton Midtown in New York, NY. The AIUM accepts abstracts that have been previously presented or published. Please visit our website for more information.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at 11:59 am Eastern Time. Once you begin an abstract submission, you will be able to save your work and return to complete it until the submission deadline; we encourage all submitters to begin the process early! You must hit the Submit button on the top right to officially submit your abstract. If you do not receive a confirmation of submission, you should log in and hit Submit.

New for 2020! There are four formats for abstract submission:

Oral (including New Investigators)
Presentations in the Basic Science category should total 12 minutes (10-minute presentation, 2-minute Q&A). Presentations in any other category should total 7 minutes (5-minute presentation, 2-minute Q&A). Some presenters will qualify to enter the New Investigator award competition, which encourages New Investigators to become active within the AIUM and ultrasound research. There is a monetary award associated with the New Investigator award (up to $500).

Electronic poster
E-posters are not presented orally. Posters will need to be uploaded on a presentation computer. Prepare a 10-slide maximum presentation to include: Title with author affiliations and email addresses (1 slide); Background and Introduction (1 slide); Materials and Methods (1 slide); Results with images (6 slides); Conclusions (1 slide). On your Conclusions slide, please include contact information so that attendees can get in touch with you onsite at the Meeting (ie, Twitter, text, etc).

Oral then Electronic poster (includes New Investigators for oral only)
Submit your abstract to be first considered as an oral presentation and if not accepted, it will automatically become an E-poster.

Case Report
A case report is a detailed report including a title, introduction, case description (symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up), and conclusion. Case reports will be considered for presentations totaling 7 minutes (5-minute presentation, 2-minute Q&A). If the case report is not selected for oral presentation, it will automatically be included as an electronic poster.

IMPORTANT! You will be notified about the status of your abstract in mid-November. Presenting authors whose abstract is accepted for an oral presentation must register as an attendee for the AIUM 2020 Meeting by Monday, December 16, 2019, pay the appropriate registration fee, and present the abstract at the assigned date and time. Changes to the schedule will be made on a case by case basis. At least one of the authors of an E-poster must register as an attendee for the AIUM 2020 Meeting by Monday, December 16, 2019, for the abstract to be included in the program.

All accepted abstracts will appear as part of the Official Proceedings, a supplement of the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine.
