The Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) invites abstract submissions that characterize the conference theme along with the conference objectives. This conference is intended to provide a professional development opportunity for graduate nursing students studying topics of all kinds. High-quality abstracts for any research or practice topic of interest to the nursing discipline will be considered. However, of particular interest are poster presentations or podium presentations that align with the conference theme, reflect innovation, and address key topics listed below.

Conference Theme: Empowering Graduate Nurses: Strengthening Your Voice to Lead

Conference Objectives:
  • Develop skills that will strengthen your capacity to lead in professional settings.
  • Assess and sharpen personal skillsets around communication and problem solving.
  • Identify leadership development opportunities appropriate for your nursing career path.
  • Describe strategies for a successful transition into positions in practice, academia, and leadership.
  • Evaluate opportunities to infuse mentorship in your professional development.

General Information:
  • The primary author will be the point of contact for all communication with GNSA.
  • Primary authors on all accepted abstracts must register for the conference and present the abstract. Co-authors cannot present in place of the primary author. Any co-authors wishing to present with their primary author are required to register for the conference as well.

Submission Guidelines:
  • Submission Due Date: Friday, May 17, 2024 11:59 p.m. EST
  • Abstract submissions that are incomplete after the submission deadline will not be eligible for presentation nor will they be considered for review.
  • Podium presentations will be in the form of 15-minute presentation with a scheduled time for live questions and answers. Presenters will be provided with a laptop computer and LCD projector.
  • Poster presentations are presented on double-sided poster boards holding two (2) posters per side. All posters should be oriented in portrait format and must not be any larger than 48" H x 48" W.
  • The primary author presenting should be the first in the list of authors. The primary author will be the point of contact for all communication with GNSA.

Review Process:
All abstracts will be reviewed using this scoring rubric. To ensure that your abstract receives the highest score, please review the rubric before submitting your abstract.
