  • To bring science into clinical practice
  • For learners to experience concise, engaging, interactive, case-based and/or creative VIRTUAL teaching methods
Note: One of ASAM’s objectives for ASAM Virtual 2021 is to increase the number of scientific and medical posters. ASAM will be re-opening the Call for Abstracts on Monday, January 4, 2021, for poster presentations only.

Submission Information
For additional information prior to submitting an abstract, submitters, presenters, and authors should review the Call for Abstracts Information Page where you can find the full list of submission requirements, categories, topics, and abstract awards.

Review Process
All submissions are reviewed by the ASAM Virtual Program Planning Committee for quality, scientific value, interest to conference registrants, and overall appropriateness for inclusion in the program.

Abstracts will be evaluated based on the submission criteria using a scale ranging from 0 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Abstracts will be reviewed by Planning Committee Members and the average score will be used to rank the priority of the presentation.

Committee members will also review the financial disclosures of the abstract authors in cases when there is a concern. Having a financial disclosure will NOT preclude an abstract’s acceptance.

Notification Letters
All notifications, of acceptance or non-acceptance, will be sent by email. It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure his/her email address is correct and current. ASAM is not responsible for notification emails not received due to incorrect contact information.

All abstract presenters will be asked to confirm receipt of their notification email and officially accept the invitation to present their abstract. If you do not receive a notification email by December 15, 2020, contact the Education Department,, immediately to confirm acceptance or non-acceptance of your submission.
