The 2026 APHL Newborn Screening Symposium will be an in-person event with select sessions recorded and available after the symposium concludes. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana from October 11 - 15, 2026.

National and international experts will present sessions on international newborn screening, genetic testing and policy issues important to public health newborn screening systems. Topics include molecular technologies, current and upcoming conditions, quality improvement, communicating with families and the public, short- and long-term follow-up and more. Parents and advocacy organizations will be represented at the symposium. Poster sessions, an awards ceremony, Ignite presentations, Innovate sessions, a welcome reception, an exhibit hall and social events will allow time for discussion and networking.
