Abstract online submission for Diagnostic Imaging Categories is closed.
The abstract must be submitted through the online system and will be subject to blind peer review. The title and text should not contain author names, institution names, location, or identifying information. Edits and updates may be performed at any time prior to clicking the “Complete Submission” button; changes will not be permitted after submission is completed. The abstract will appear AS SUBMITTED in a future issue of Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound.
Submission of an abstract (for oral or poster presentation) implies that the author(s) will register for the annual conference and be available to present the abstract at this year’s annual conference, if accepted. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance in early August. No compensation is provided for abstract presentations.
The American College of Veterinary Radiology requires that all abstracts submitted for its annual conference be original work that has not previously presented at other national or international radiation oncology society meetings or previously submitted for publication prior to the abstract submission deadline date. Exceptions will be considered by the Scientific Committee for abstracts presented in non-English languages or to other specialties. Abstracts presented elsewhere must be identified with the specific meeting and presentation date. The conditions for use by ACVR are outlined during the submission process.
Abstract Submission Format
Each abstract submitted for the 2025 ACVR Annual Scientific Conference will require one abstract submission. All data collection and all analyses must be complete at the time of submission. Submission details are outlined below.
- Title: limited to 20 words. This title will be used in electronic and print publications. Common abbreviations may be used sparingly.
- A short abstract (250 words) for the Proceedings and publication in Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound.
- Abstracts will not contain any headings.
- Do not include any formatting in the text (bold, italics, underline) or paragraph structure.
Abstract Categories
Accepted presentations will be assigned to an appropriate category by the Scientific Committee. Authors may indicate their preference upon submission; however, the final decision will be made by the Committee.
Scientific Presentation
All Scientific Presentations are applicable for an award. Radiation Oncology will have two awards: ACVR Conference Resident Abstract Award and ACVR Non-Resident Abstract Award. Residents, Non-Residents, Diplomates and Non-Diplomates alike are invited to apply. Each submission can elect to be considered for judging.
Abstracts may not exceed 250 words. The title (maximum 20 words), authors, and affiliations are not included in the 250-word count. Abstracts should be a single paragraph and organized without headings according to the following structure: introduction with study purpose, a description of the methods, results and conclusions of the study. Do not include formatting in the text (bold, italics, underline) nor paragraph structure. Photos, diagrams, tables or graphs are not allowed. Each author is fully responsible for the content of the abstract.
Scientific Exhibits
Posters will be submitted in electronic format (pdf) for digital display at the annual conference on-site and in the ACVR app. Abstracts will be published in Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound.

Educational Exhibit
Educational exhibits are included in the poster session of the meeting. They are posters that provide educational review on a specific topic in veterinary radiation oncology. Educational exhibits are not hypothesis-based research, although some original data can be included. The illustrations and images should be at least 75% from the institution of the submitting author. Abstracts will NOT be published in Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound.
Posters will be submitted in electronic format (pdf) for digital display at the annual conference on-site and in the ACVR app.
Educational Abstract Submission
Abstracts may not exceed 250 words. The title (maximum 20 words), authors, and affiliations are not included in the 250-word count. Abstracts should be a single paragraph, organized without headings, and should communicate the teaching points and/or content of the presented work. Do not include formatting in the text (bold, italics, underline) nor paragraph structure. A pdf file containing 5 figures (images, charts, graphs) may accompany the abstract submission. These figures must be illustrative of the topic and content of the proposed presentation. These figures are used for evaluation of the abstract only. Abstracts will NOT be published in Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound. Each author is fully responsible for the content of the abstract.
Timeline of Submissions
Submissions Open: NOW to July 15, 2025.
Submissions Reviewed: July 16 to August 5, 2025.
Authors Notified: Week of August 11, 2025
ACVR Conference for ALL Abstracts: ACVR Annual Conference - October 15 and 16, 2025.
Abstracts will be invited to present during the ACVR Annual Scientific Conference in Washington, DC, October 15-18, 2025. Radiation Oncology content will be presented October 15 and 16.
