2026 Group on Educational Affairs Spring Meetings Call for Abstracts

Central Group on Educational Affairs: Hosted by: Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science
Northeastern Group on Educational Affairs: Hosted by: Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine
Western Group on Educational Affairs: Hosted by: The University of Arizona – Phoenix College of Medicine
Southern Group on Educational Affairs: Hosted by: Tulane University School of Medicine

The Group on Educational Affairs (GEA) invites you to submit proposals and abstracts for the 2026 AAMC Regional GEA Spring Meetings. While each region-CGEA, NEGEA, SGEA, and WGEA-will host its own distinct conference, a single submission site will collect proposals for all four regions. Each regional meeting provides a unique opportunity to engage with colleagues in your area through sessions that advance innovation, scholarship, and collaboration in medical education. The conferences are designed to foster dialogue around shared challenges and opportunities, support professional growth, and strengthen partnerships within and across institutions. We welcome your proposals and abstracts that showcase research, innovations, and transformative conversations. Join us in shaping the future of academic medicine region by region.

Please note: Titles, descriptions, and other proposal content may be edited by the AAMC to ensure consistency with our editorial standards, enhance accessibility, and reflect the broader context in which our work is shared.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Each submission must represent only one region: SGEA, NEGEA, CGEA, or WGEA. Please select only one region per abstract. If you wish to submit to multiple regions, you must submit a separate abstract for each region. Please note* our system will identify each region as a submission category.
2. Each individual is limited to four (4) total submissions of any combination as co-author on a small group discussion, co-author on a workshop, co-author on a panel, or first author (presenter) on an oral abstract. There is no limit for the number of poster submissions as first or co-author.
3. Each submission will be reviewed by at least three peers.
4. Presentation is contingent upon the presenting author (typically the first author) registering for their respective Regional GEA conference. All presenters of accepted proposals must be registered no later than one month prior to the conference. Failure to meet this requirement may result in cancellation of the presentation.
5. Students, residents and fellows are strongly encouraged to submit their work.

All submissions must be submitted online no later than September 29th, 2025 at 11:59pm HT.

Notification of the review outcome is anticipated to be shared with the contact author in mid-late January.

We recommend that you prepare your proposal in a word processing application and then paste each component into the corresponding online section. An abstract submission is considered a commitment to attend the meeting and present if accepted, and an acknowledgment of the costs associated with travel and the meeting registration. All abstracts will undergo a peer-review process by at least three reviewers. Students, residents, fellows and new investigators are strongly encouraged to submit their work.
