We are seeking engaging, knowledgeable, and dynamic speakers to share their expertise and insights with our diverse audience of professionals in the financial management of medical practices and healthcare organizations. If you have valuable knowledge and a passion for financial and revenue cycle management, new compensation modeling, growing revenue, mitigating inflationary costs, business intelligence and analysis, and payer contracting and negotiation, we invite you to submit a proposal to speak at the MGMA Focus | Financial Conference.
The MGMA Focus | Financial Conference attracts a diverse range of professionals from independent practices and large health systems, encompassing various ownership structures and job titles. These titles include Practice Administrators, Directors, Vice Presidents, Chief Financial Officers, Certified Public Accountants, Accounting Professionals, and Sourcing and Purchasing Specialists, all of whom attend seeking cutting-edge, in-depth education to enhance their extensive years of field experience.
Submission Guidelines
Presentation Topics: We welcome proposals on a wide range of topics related to financial management. Please ensure that your proposal aligns with the conference focus. Consider highlighting innovative ideas, emerging trends, case studies, research findings, or tactical approaches that will provide valuable takeaways for our attendees. Presentation Format: Proposals selected from the Call will include interactive breakout sessions that are 50 minutes in length. Please indicate in your submission how you plan to engage the audience and deliver your content effectively. If you wish to include polling, please mention it in your proposal.
Proposal Summary: Provide a concise description and three learning objectives (150-200 words) of your proposed session. Clearly outline the key points, main takeaways, and the value your talk will bring to attendees. Make sure to emphasize the relevance, uniqueness, and timeliness of your topic. Additional instructions and guidelines are in the Cadmium submission site.
Submission Process: Please submit proposals through the Cadmium submission site to be considered. You will need to create an account to begin a proposal. Multiple proposals from the same speaker/organization are welcome. The deadline for submissions is October 13, 2023, and late submissions will not be considered. All proposal submitters will be notified of their status via email by the end of November, and will receive further instructions regarding their participation if the proposal was selected.
Review and Selection: All proposals will be reviewed by our review committee. The submissions that include the following will be given the highest priority in the review process:
- Real-life scenarios that communicate the organization’s challenges and the demonstrated strategies used to resolve them.
- Metrics that quantify the improvements and how those results are attainable for others.
- Checklists, implementation guides, sample policies, action plans, or other tools that attendees can use to implement the knowledge gained in the session.
- Concepts new to the field of health care.
- Sessions that address the needs of specific specialties.
- Solutions that can be replicated by attendees in their practices.
- Avoid promoting products or services.

Speaker Cancellations and Changes to Content: At MGMA, we uphold the highest standards for our conference sessions. If a speaker encounters challenges fulfilling their commitment to speaking or misses critical deadlines, we reserve the right to cancel the session. Any changes to speakers or program content must undergo approval by the Content Team. Our commitment to providing exceptional continuing education opportunities to our valued members and attendees drives this process.
