CMAA Southern California Chapter 2026 Project Achievement Awards

Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Southern California Chapter is pleased to announce its 33rd Annual Awards Program to recognize outstanding achievement in the practice of construction management. Award winners will serve as examples for CMAA to promote professionalism and excellence in the management of the construction process. Please note, in addition to project awards, we will recognize four special partner categories. Once your project information is complete, you will have the opportunity to submit optional, additional content in the following special focus areas: (1) Outstanding Small Business Program and Collaboration (2) Innovation and Implementation of Technology (3) Sustainability (4) Contractor’s Excellence of Performance.

Purpose

The Program is designed to recognize and promote professionalism, innovation and excellence in the management of the construction process. Awards will be given to the projects that best reflect this mission.

Criteria for Project Achievement Awards

• The competition is open to all CMAA Southern California Chapter members. The submitter of the nomination must be a current member of the Chapter or the submission will be disqualified. The award recipient may be a non-member.
• Nominated projects must have been completed between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
• Projects must be within the Southern California Chapter regional area, which excludes the San Diego region. California zip codes 93999 and below (except those starting with 919; 920; 921 – which are part of San Diego Chapter)
• Projects must contain a Construction Management or Program Management role that is performed separately and distinctly from the builder’s role. If the builder also performed the CM or PM services for the same project (e.g. CM at Risk), then these services must be clearly described to explain how they differ from the builder’s role.
• It is required that the submitter confirms with the Owner/Client entity that it does not object to the statements made in the submittal. CMAA So. Cal. Chapter is not responsible for verifying the accuracy of the information provided.

CMAA So. Cal. Chapter will recognize the performance of outstanding Construction Management or Program Management services for projects completed in the So. Cal. Chapter regional area in the following major Cost Categories – Public or Private Projects with Constructed Value

1. Less than $10 million
2. Less than $50 million
3. More than $50 million

Awards will be bestowed within the above Cost Categories which may be further broken down under Project Market Sector, Delivery Method, and Type Sub-Categories including but not limited to the following:

• TRANSPORTATION: Highways, Bridges, Rail, Aviation, Maritime
• EDUCATION: K12, Colleges/Universities, Libraries
• WATER/WASTEWATER: Storage, Conveyance & Treatment, Industrial, Power/Utilities
• HEALTHCARE
• COMMERCIAL/SPORTS/ENTERTAINMENT/HOSPITALITY
• GOVERNMENT: Federal/State/Local
• RESIDENTIAL/MIXED-USE
• ENVIRONMENTAL: Wastewater Reuse, Ecosystem Management, Flood Control
