- Late Breaking Trials – Abstracts of clinical trials that will present results of prospective studies, preferably multicenter (5 centers or more). Trials that are ongoing but expect to have results at the time of presentation are allowed. Specification of the number of patients or procedures expected to be reported on and the outcomes that will be presented should be included in the abstract. Priority will be given to abstracts that contain preliminary data.

Novel Technology and Emerging Studies – Abstracts of ongoing trials that do not have results and are not expected to present data during Venous 2026. Novel technology that is in development is allowed. Abstracts of novel technology should contain the indications for use and the mechanism of action. Abstracts of emerging studies should describe in detail patient recruitment plan, projected enrollment, indications, inclusion and exclusion criteria. Priority will be given to clinical trials in the first year of enrollment and technology that is in early commercialization phase.
- Retrospective analyses and studies that do not meet these criteria will not be considered as they have already been evaluated during the regular abstract submission process.
- AVF only accepts electronic abstract submissions via the official abstract submission website.
- All work submitted to the AVF 2026 Annual Meeting must be original. Those found to be in violation of this policy will be prohibited from presenting at the AVF Annual Meeting for the next two years.
- Titles need to be submitted in Title Case (Not ALL CAPS and not Sentence case).
- Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Abstract length is 425 words or less, excluding title and authors.
- Each table and/or graph will count as 25 words in the total word count. (Limit two images per abstract). If you do upload a table or graph it is mandatory that it has a title, and the table or graph is referenced in the abstract components section.
- All uploads (tables/graphs) must be cited within the abstract text.
- All uploads must be in jpeg or png format ONLY.
- Abstracts must be submitted with 4 components: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
- No reference should be made in the abstract to the names or institutions of the authors.
- Announcements of accepted and rejected abstracts will be made in late November.
- Complete instructions for presentations will be provided with your notification of acceptance.
- ALL presenting authors ARE REQUIRED to register/pay for their attendance at the meeting (full meeting registration, based on your AVF membership status).
- AVF only accepts electronic abstract submissions via the official abstract submission website. No more than two abstracts from the same institution will be selected for speaking slots (oral presentations and quick shots).
- All work submitted to the AVF 2026 Annual Meeting must be original and not previously published or presented. All work at the time of presentation at the Annual Meeting must also be original. All authors must attest that the presentations given at the meeting have never been presented or published before the date of presentation at the AVF Annual Meeting. Those found to be in violation of this policy will be prohibited from presenting at the AVF Annual Meeting for the next two years.

- Three presentation types will be offered, you will need to select one: Oral Presentation, Quick Shot Presentation, or Poster Presentation. Your presentation will be given every consideration for the category selected; however, the final determination will be made by the Program Committee.
- The following submission categories will be offered, you will need to select the one that best fits your abstract: Basic Science, Diagnostic Testing and Imaging, Superficial Vein Disease, Chronic Deep Venous Disease (Obstruction/Reflux), Pelvic Venous Disease, Venous Thromboembolism/IVC Filters, Lymphedema, Wound Care, Vascular Medicine, Venous Healthcare Inequities, and Miscellaneous.
- Abstracts must be submitted with 4 components: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

- Eligibility: This abstract category is open exclusively to advanced practice providers (APPs), including NPs, PAs, as well as RNs, sclerotherapists, and other non-physician venous healthcare professionals.
- Originality Requirement: All work submitted must be original and not previously published or presented at a national or international conference. At the time of presentation at AVF 2026, the work must remain unpublished and unpresented elsewhere. Violations will result in a two-year presentation ban.
- Title Format: Titles must be submitted in Title Case (Not ALL CAPS or sentence case).
- Abstract Word Limit: Abstracts are limited to 425 words or less, excluding title and authors.
- Tables and Images:
- You may include up to two tables and/or graphs.
- Each table/graph counts as 25 words.
- All tables/graphs must have titles and be referenced in the abstract text.
- Files must be in JPEG or PNG format only.
- Presentation Types (Choose One):
- Oral Presentation (approximately 6 minutes with 3 minutes of discussion)
- Quick Shot Presentation (a 3–5-minute session focused on short, concise presentations of interesting and often challenging clinical scenarios in venous disease)
- Submission Categories (Choose One):
