The SECO International Continuing Education Committees invite you to submit course presentations for SECO 20/20, March 4 – 8, 2020 in Atlanta, GA.
  • SECO 20/20 Course Submission begins March 31, 2019 at 12:00 AM ET.
  • SECO 20/20 Course submission ends May 17, 2019 at 11:55 PM ET.

  • Disclaimer: Please note that submitting a presentation abstract does not mean that the session will be selected for SECO 20/20. If two session abstracts are similar, lectures may be contacted to determine if they are willing to collaborate on the session.

    TARGET AUDIENCE

    The program is designed for Optometrists, Ophthalmic Technicians, Opticians, Optometry Residents and Students, Opticianry Students, Ophthalmic Professionals, Paraoptometrics, Practice Administrators and other professionals practicing in the optometric continuum.

    EDUCATIONAL NEEDS

    SECO welcomes abstract submissions on all topics pertinent to the optometric profession. The SECO Continuing Education Committee is placing emphasis on the need for skill-based and innovative sessions that incorporate interactive learning strategies and provide attendees with resources to implement upon return to practice. These topics have been identified as areas of focus this year:

      • Advanced Laser Procedures (Laser Procedures)
      • Artificial Intelligence (Business Management)
      • Digital/Social Media Marketing (Business Management)
      • Healthcare Update (General Optometry)
      • Human Resource Management (Business Management)
      • Big Data in Healthcare (Business Management)
      • Leadership Training (Business Management)
      • Myopia Control/Management

    HOW TO SUBMIT

    To submit an abstract for the SECO 20/20 Congress, please click here and review program details prior to submission. All abstracts must be submitted via the abstract submission site. The deadline to submit an abstract is May 17, 2019.

    SECO LECTURER DATABASE

    SECO International maintains a Lecturers Database that lists the names, contact information, and proposed topics of all individuals who submit an abstract for our educational programs. Individual names are maintained in the Lecturers database for two (2) years after the most recent submission. This information is made available to the SECO Continuing Education Committees, and SECO Member State Executive Directors seeking qualified lecturers.

    RULES FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

    Abstracts must be submitted via this website. Faxed or emailed abstracts will not be considered. Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.
    1. The presenting lecturer must be listed as the first lecturer.
    2. Please note the submitting lecturer will receive all correspondence about the abstract so we advise that the submitting lecturer details that are entered are the same details as those of the presenting lecturer.​
    3. Your abstract is not successfully submitted until you receive a confirmation e-mail after clicking the final submit button. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, please contact us at education@secostaff.com.
