2027 Annual Congress - Call for Abstracts
Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for presentation consideration at the 2027 AANA Annual Congress to be held August 8-12, 2027 in New Orleans, LA.
Annual Congress is the premier educational event for nurse anesthesiology professionals, bringing together more than 4,000 CRNAs, nurses, residents, educators, researchers, and industry leaders from across the country. Congress serves as a forum for advancing clinical excellence, sharing innovative practices, presenting emerging research, and fostering professional growth. The AANA Professional Development Committee invites submissions across a variety of presentation formats, including Podium Presentations, Clinical Conversations, and Active Learning Labs that are evidence-based, clinically relevant, interactive, and focused on advancing the nurse anesthesiology profession. Please review the Submission Guidelines and Abstract Grading Rubric before submitting your abstract(s). AANA will accept up to two (2) submissions per presenter with a maximum of two (2) presenters per abstract submitted.
Submission Deadline and NotificationSubmission Deadline: September 24, 2026 at 12:00 pm (NOON) CT. *No abstracts may be submitted or will be considered after the deadline.*
Grading Deadline: October 29, 2026
Notification Deadline: Submitters will be notified of their status no later than January 14, 2027.

Submission Deadline and Notification
The goals and objectives of the Annual Congress are as follows:
- Advance the clinical judgment, professional expertise, and evidence-based decision-making of CRNAs, nurse anesthesiology residents, and nurses through educational experiences that promote analysis, application, and synthesis of current knowledge.
- Disseminate research, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence-based practices that inform and advance nurse anesthesiology practice.
- Integrate advancements in technology, pharmacology, patient safety, and clinical care to optimize patient outcomes and drive practice innovation.
- Facilitate collaboration, professional dialogue, and the exchange of diverse perspectives to promote collective learning, problem-solving, and advancement of the profession.
