Raising Our Voices 2020

Anthropologists will be RAISING OUR VOICES through a Fall event series that will be offered online for live, interactive participation as well as view-on-demand.

This portal is used to collect submissions for the virtual program. Out of respect for diverse cultural traditions, we request that photographs of human remains be included in presentations only if absolutely necessary. Presenting images of Indigenous human remains, in particular, should be avoided.
The submission portal is currently accepting submissions via the following formats–

Live Streamed Events:
  • Interview
  • Conversations or Debates
  • Roundtable/ Town Hall

View On-Demand Events:
  • Podcast
  • Virtual Poster
  • Three-Minute Thesis Competition
  • Talk

  • Monday, July 20: Submission portal opens
  • Monday, August 31, (12 pm ET): Deadline to complete submissions
  • Week of September 23: Accept/Decline notifications sent to all submitters

Participant Requirements: Meeting registration and AAA membership is NOT required for all participants at the time of submission. Participants who are accepted onto the program (announced in late-summer) will be required to register for the meeting and join/renew their membership with the AAA.

Accessing the portal:
>> Click "Login" below to sign in with the email address tied to your AAA profile and password to begin.

>> Click "Create Now" if you do not have a profile.

  • You will be directed to the AAA website to create an AnthroGateway account, and then you'll revisit the abstract scorecard to log in with your AAA information.
