Welcome to the CCS Research Fellowships & Awards Application Site


The CCS Research Fellowships and Awards program was established to foster growth of peer-reviewed Canadian cardiovascular research and researchers. With support from like-minded organizations committed to empowering clinician scientists nationally, the CCS Research Fellowships and Awards program supports topics of research that span the various areas of cardiovascular medicine. The CCS, and all program partners, encourage all eligible CCS members to apply, especially women, First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities.

CCS − Pfizer Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) Research Trainee Award

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) and Pfizer have collaboratively created a research trainee award as part of the CCS Research Fellowships and Awards Program entitled “CCS-Pfizer ATTR-CM Research Trainee Award.” The purpose of this award is to foster the growth of peer-reviewed Canadian research in the area of Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM). This award aims to foster excellence in cardiovascular research and help trainees advance toward independent research careers in the field of ATTR-CM..

One (1) salary award:
$60,000

CCS − BMS Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Research Award

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) are proud to support the CCS-BMS Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Research Award. The purpose of this award is to foster growth of peer-reviewed Canadian research in the area of HCM, with a focus on HCM diagnosis, progression monitoring, epidemiology and / or prevalence.

Two (2) Awards:
Two (2) awards of up to $65,000 each will be awarded based on an independent peer review process. A total of $130,000 in funding is available across the two awards.

CCS-Novo Nordisk Cardiometabolic Research Award

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Novo Nordisk are proud to support the CCS-Novo Nordisk Cardiometabolic Research Award. With this award, we hope to further research on cardiometabolic disease to improve the lives of Canadians who are affected by these conditions, and their families.

One (1) salary award:
$35,000
