2027 AAMC Medical Education Innovation Conference Call for Abstracts

The annual meeting for the Curriculum, Assessment, Instruction, Research, and Evaluation Group
Indianapolis, IN - April 17-20, 2027
“Cultivating the Educator Identity and Building Our Community"

The Curriculum, Assessment, Instruction, Research, and Evaluation Group invites you to submit proposals for the 2027 AAMC Medical Education Innovation Conference. This meeting provides a unique opportunity for medical educators to engage with colleagues in your area through sessions that advance innovation, scholarship, and collaboration in medical education. The conference is designed to foster dialogue around shared challenges and opportunities, support professional growth, and strengthen partnerships within and across institutions. We welcome your proposals that showcase research, innovations, and transformative conversations. Join us in shaping the future of academic medicine!

Please note: Titles, descriptions, and other proposal content may be edited by the AAMC to ensure consistency with our editorial standards, enhance accessibility, and reflect the broader context in which our work is shared. If edits are required, AAMC staff will contact submitters prior to the public publication of edits.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. Each individual is limited to four (4) total submissions of any combination as co-author on a small group discussion, co-author on a workshop, co-author on a panel, or first author (presenter) on an oral abstract. There is no limit for the number of poster submissions as first or co-author.
2. Each submission will be reviewed by at least three peers.
3. Presentation is contingent upon the presenting author (typically the first author) registering for the conference. All presenters of accepted proposals must be registered no later than one month prior to the conference. Failure to meet this requirement may result in cancellation of the presentation.
4. Students, residents and fellows are strongly encouraged to submit their work.

All submissions must be submitted online no later than September 15, 2026 at 11:59pm HST.

Notification of the review outcome is anticipated to be shared with the contact author in early January.

We recommend that you prepare your proposal in a word processing application and then paste each component into the corresponding online section. An proposal submission is considered a commitment to attend the meeting and present if accepted, and an acknowledgment of the costs associated with travel and the meeting registration. All proposals will undergo a peer-review process by at least three reviewers. Students, residents, fellows and new investigators are strongly encouraged to submit their work.
