CCS − Bayer Resident Vascular Award

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Bayer Inc. have collaboratively created an award, entitled “CCS − Bayer Resident Vascular Award”. This Award is intended for Canadian clinical trainees (PGY 4-6) for a research project on any topic related to thrombosis, anticoagulation, stroke or atrial fibrillation.

The program is particularly interested in research that has the potential to advance knowledge about or improve the care of patients at risk for vascular thrombotic or embolic events.

Three awards totaling up to $45,000 will be awarded based on an independent peer review process. A bonus award of $5,000 will be awarded by the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) session audience to one of the three finalists for the most effective and persuasive presentation.

Funded research must be completed within 48 months from the start of funding.

Award Prizes:
1st prize: $20,000
2nd prize: $15,000
3rd prize: $10,000

An additional $5,000 prize to be awarded by the CCC session audience to one of the three finalists for the most effective and persuasive presentation.

Applications are due September 17, 2020.



CCS/HSRLCE/BI-Lilly Cardiometabolic Research Award

The Canadian Cardiovascular Society, Heart & Stroke / Richard Lewar Centre of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research (HSRLCE), and the BI-Lilly Alliance have collaboratively created an award, entitled “CCS/HSRLCE/BI-Lilly Cardiometabolic Research Award”. This Award is intended for Canadian clinical residents (PGY 4-6), or PhDs and MDs who are within five years of their first faculty appointment at a Canadian academic institution, for a research project on any topic related to cardiometabolic disease.

Two awards totaling up to $45,000 will be awarded based on an independent peer review process.

Funded research must be completed within 48 months from the start of funding.

Award Prizes:
1st prize: $25,000
2nd prize: $20,000

Applications are due September 17, 2020.
