The ITS America Conference & Expo Call for Contributions is now open. For 2027, we are looking for educational sessions and papers that will narrate this year’s theme: Smart Systems, Seamless Journeys.
Submissions for the ITS America Conference & Expo 2027 Conference program should fall into the following categories:Artificial Intelligence

Types of Sessions:
Technical and Research Paper Sessions
Paper Sessions feature individual technical and research papers submitted and presented by ITS experts and researchers. These sessions, each focused on a common topic area, cover a broad range of themes, including the practical, economic, technological, organizational, and societal dimensions of ITS. The goal is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge related to ITS deployment—whether improving the operational use of current systems or advancing research and development for new applications. Each session typically includes a moderator appointed by ITS America and 3-4 authors presenting their individual work. Paper sessions are 1-hour in length.
Special Interest Sessions
Each session is designed around a specific subject area and is organized by a proposal submitter with expertise in the development and deployment of ITS. Sessions are interactive and non-commercial, designed to foster dynamic and insightful discussions on cutting-edge innovations and their potential impact on the future of transportation. The format typically includes a moderator and 3–4 panelists, all recruited by the session submitter/organizer. Special Interest Sessions are 1-hour in length.

Types of Sessions:
Deadline for Submission: September 25, 2026
- Paper and session proposals must be submitted no later than September 25, 2026.
- Paper authors may submit up to two (2) papers.
- Session organizers may submit up to three (3) proposals.
Submission Process:
- Complete and submit paper submissions and session proposals in the online proposal form.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon submission from speakers@itsaevents.com.
- Sessions will be reviewed by a dedicated committee and papers will be peer reviewed.
- Submitters will be notified of the decisions by email starting the week of December 7, 2026.
- All correspondence and notifications will be sent electronically to the email addresses listed on the submission form.
- Delivering a session at the ITS America Conference & Expo 2027 is done on a voluntary unpaid basis.
- All of the speakers' individual travel and living expenses are at their own expense.
- All of the speakers are acknowledging that they must register as a speaker full conference attendee or a speaker 1-Day conference attendee, and pay the speaker registration fee.
- All of the speakers will be given marketing material to help promote their sessions in advance of the show (see details below).
Selection Criteria:
- Relevance and timeliness of topic.
- Innovation and tactical focus.
- Quality of proposal (alignment of session description and learning objectives).
- Expertise of presenter(s).
- Commercial-free, vendor-neutral nature of session proposal.
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion of the session speakers' suggestions.
- A discounted speaker rate is provided to all presenters.
- A social media graphic is provided to all presenters for their personal promotion of their session.
- Access to dedicated Speaker Ready Lounge.
- Listing on the ITS America Conference & Expo website.
- Publishing of your work in the conference proceedings.
