Welcome to the WE Local US 2027 CFP Breakout Session Submission Site

In February-March 2027, Society of Women Engineers (SWE) will offer three WE Local conferences in the US: Raleigh, NC; Boise, ID; and St. Louis, MO. We at SWE are committed to making these WE Local conferences, like all our programming, a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Our goals in this WE Local US (WELUS27) Call for Participation (CFP) for Breakout Sessions (Lectures, Panels, Snap Sessions, and Workshops) are: to ensure effective programming and speaking opportunities are provided, and to empower attendees to succeed at every stage of their professional development.

New / Important for WELUS27 CFP

  • Please view the WELUS27 CFP Guidelines PDF, which shows the full content of the application as well as FAQs on the process.
  • Please enter personal email(s), not work email(s), for your Submitter and Presenter(s)! In 2026 we've seen a massive spike in workplace email providers blocking correspondence sent from cfp@swe.org (including the crucial Notification message, which explains whether your session was accepted). If your session is accepted and you submitted using a workplace email that blocks you from accessing your Notification message, you will NOT receive an extension on the Session Agreement and other post-acceptance Tasks.
  • If your session is accepted to WELUS27, your presentation time will be assigned by the conference organizers and cannot be requested or changed. Please plan to keep both full days of the conference open, as your session could be scheduled at any point during that window. The complete conference schedule, including your assigned presentation timeslot, will be released by mid-January 2027.
  • Each person may be involved (as Submitter, Speaker, and/or Moderator) in maximum 3 submissions. No exceptions are allowed. If you are a Submitter with many proposal ideas, please choose your best 3 to submit! And, for example, if your colleague is submitting 2 sessions that list you as a Speaker, then you may submit maximum 1 session of your own, bringing your total involvement to 3 submissions. If you are involved in more than 3 submissions, all the submissions you're involved in will be disqualified.
