Welcome to the AIANYS 2022 Honor Awards Nomination Portal
AIA New York State’s Annual Honor Awards celebrate architects, firms, emerging professionals and educators throughout New York State that have contributed significantly to the profession of architecture.
In 2021, there were extensive changes made to the AIANYS Honor Awards program, specifically the Firm Award, the James William Kideney Gold Medal Award, and the Matthew W. Del Gaudio Service Award. One of the most significant of these changes was to enable any AIANYS member in good standing to nominate an individual (or project) for the award. A local chapter is not required to sign off on the nomination.
Effective 2022, the award categories that the expanded nominations will apply to also include:
President’s Award
Associate Award
Student Award
Young Architect Award
Frederic Schwartz Community Development Award
Honorary Member
Educator Award
The Firm Award is broken down into three categories:
Small Firm: 1-25 employees
Medium Firm: 26-50 employees
Large Firm: 51+ employees
Who May Nominate an Honor Award Candidate?
With the exception of the Local Chapter Emerging Professionals Committee Award, Fellows Award and Honorary Member, 2022 Honor Awards nominations may come from any AIA New York State member in good standing (someone other than the candidate). Honorary Member nominations can also come from any AIANYS Board of Directors Member. The Firm Award nomination may come from an AIA New York State member or component. Self-nominations are permitted for the Firm Award.
