The American Society for Nutrition Foundation welcomes applications for the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and ASNF Program Scholars (CAPS). We are pleased to provide study enrichment for graduate students in nutrition..

The CRN and ASNF Program Scholars (CAPS) will provide ASN graduate student members* with educational scholarships to attend CRN’s “SciComms Connect,” and other CRN events, which will be held in-person on October 6, 2026, at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, CA.

Application Requirements *The following information will be required during the application process:

• Confirmation of ASN membership
• Confirmation of Location (*scholarships available to those living in and traveling from the continental US)
• Degree in progress and expected year of completion
• Area of study
• Personal statement of applicant’s educational and career objectives and how participation in this opportunity would benefit personal goals (no more than 3,500 characters not including spaces)
• Prior involvement with ASN (e.g., volunteer leadership position(s), abstracts presented, manuscripts submitted)
• Current cumulative GPA
• Required upload: Current resume or CV (PDF)

Selected scholars will be expected to attend CRN SciComms Connect and related events in person, beginning the night of October 5 through October 6, 2026. Scholars will be provided standard coach roundtrip airfare within continental US, 2-night hotel accommodations at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa and a daily stipend for ground transportation and other incidentals. Flight accommodations must be made through the ASNF and hotel reservations will be arranged by CRN. Additional instructions will be provided to the selected scholars.
