Welcome to the 2026 John Wayne Alumni Fellows Grant Program Submission Site


Purpose:
Continuing John Wayne’s legacy of fighting cancer with courage, strength and grit, the John Wayne Alumni Fellows Grant Program will provide John Wayne Alumni Fellows with funding to further clinical research efforts in surgical oncology.

Eligibility:
Graduates of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program (formerly at JWCI). Applicant must be a John Wayne Cancer Foundation Surgical Oncology Alumni Fellow and plays a vital role in the conduct of a specific clinical research project. This might include, for example, a leadership role in a clinical trial, in a prospective cancer outcomes study, or a translational research project related to a prospective clinical trial. This grant application applies to alumni of the John Wayne Cancer Institute Surgical Oncology Fellowship Program only. Non John Wayne Alumni Fellows are prohibited from submitting grant applications.

Terms:
Up to two awards may be funded for $50,000 each for one year beginning July 1, 2026. The award concludes July 1, 2027. The award is given to the sponsoring institution and may be used for partial support of the applicant's salary, research fellows or staff support, tuition and travel.
