The AVF is now accepting submissions for Late Breaking Clinical Trials & Emerging Technologies.

The American Venous Forum (AVF) invites submissions for high-impact Late Breaking Clinical Trials and Emerging Technologies to be presented live on stage at the upcoming AVF Annual Meeting in Nashville, TN. This second call highlights top-tier, late-stage clinical research, high-potential ongoing studies, and novel innovations shaping the future of venous and lymphatic disease care.

Submission Categories & Criteria

• Late Breaking Trials :This category is designed for high-impact prospective clinical trials (multicenter studies preferred) with new or late-breaking data.
• Eligibility: Completed trials or ongoing trials that will have definitive data available by the time of presentation in Nashville.
• Abstract Requirements:
• Specific number of patients or procedures evaluated/projected.
• Clearly defined primary and secondary endpoints/outcomes.
• Preliminary data (priority selection will be awarded to abstracts containing preliminary results).
• Emerging Technologies & Early-Stage Studies: This category focuses on novel medical devices, procedural innovations, and early-phase clinical studies.
• Eligibility: Novel technologies currently in development or early commercialization, as well as ongoing trials not expected to report final data at AVF.
• Abstract Requirements:
• For Novel Technology: Description of clinical indication(s), mechanism of action, technical design, and intended therapeutic or diagnostic use.
• For Early/Ongoing Studies: Detailed outline of the trial design, patient recruitment strategy, projected enrollment, target indications, and inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Priority: Special consideration will be given to technology in early commercialization phases and clinical trials in their first year of enrollment.



Abstract Guidelines

• AVF only accepts electronic abstract submissions via the official abstract submission website.
• ALL presenters MUST be paid registrants and must complete all necessary forms and disclosures to present.
• Acceptance of abstract will be considered a commitment to present in person at the AVF 2026 Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, February 27 – March 2.
• All work submitted to the AVF 2027 Annual Meeting must be original and not previously published or presented. All work at the time of presentation at the Annual Meeting must also be original. All authors must attest that the presentations given at the meeting have never been presented or published before the date of presentation at the AVF Annual Meeting. Those found to be in violation of this policy will be prohibited from presenting at the AVF Annual Meeting for the next two years.
• Titles need to be submitted in Title Case (Not ALL CAPS and not Sentence case).
• Abstract length is 425 words or less, excluding title and authors.
• Each table and/or graph will count as 25 words in the total word count. (Limit two images per abstract). If you do upload a table or graph it is mandatory that it has a title, and the table or graph is referenced in the abstract components section.
• All uploads (tables/graphs) must be cited within the abstract text.
• All uploads must be in jpeg or png format ONLY.
• Abstracts must be submitted with 4 components: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
• No reference should be made in the abstract to the names or institutions of the authors.
• Announcements of accepted and rejected abstracts will be made in late November.
• Complete instructions for presentations will be provided with your notification of acceptance.
• Abstracts must be submitted in English.
• ALL presenting authors ARE REQUIRED to register/pay for their attendance at the meeting (full meeting registration, based on your AVF membership status).

Notifications & Next Steps

• Decisions on accepted and rejected abstracts will be announced in late November.
• Complete presentation instructions will be included with your acceptance notification.
