Welcome to the Submission Site for the 2024 MGMA Summit
Speaking proposals are due no later than August 29, 2023.

We are seeking engaging, knowledgeable, and dynamic speakers to share their expertise and insights with our diverse audience of professionals in the management of medical practices and healthcare organizations. If you have a passion for financial and operational management and valuable knowledge in related areas such as compensation modeling, growing revenue, mitigating inflationary costs, business intelligence and analysis, and payer contracting and negotiation, we invite you to submit a proposal to speak at the MGMA Summit.
Event attendees have a variety of job titles and are employed by independent practices and large health systems under a variety of ownership structures.
Attendees by title: Practice Administrators, Directors and Vice Presidents, Chief Financial Officers, Certified Public Accountants, Accounting Professionals, Sourcing and Purchasing Specialists, and Clinicians.
Attendees, on average, have years of experience in the field and are looking for cutting edge, in-depth education.
Submission Guidelines
Presentation Topics: We welcome proposals on a wide range of topics related to financial and operational management. Please ensure that your proposal aligns with the event focus and objectives. Consider highlighting innovative ideas, emerging trends, case studies, research findings, or tactical approaches that will provide valuable takeaways for our attendees.
• Financial Mastery: Focus on how to capture and compare data and turn it into actionable items for improving medical practice performance.
• Leading People: Focus on the way effective compensation plans incentivize quality and encourage productivity and appropriate utilization to support a practice's strategic goals in various ownership structures.
• Strategic Decision: Focus on the strategies, operations and tools necessary to manage a broad scope of financial duties including accounting principles, budgets, cost of care, compliance, financing, integration, investments, purchasing, theft prevention, valuation and vendor relations.
• Operational Excellence: These sessions provide essential knowledge about the transition of Medicare physician payments.
• Transforming Patient Care: Focus on concepts, operations, and tools necessary for effective analysis and negotiation in both fee-for-service and value-based contracts.
Presentation Format: Approximately 80% of the content will come from the call for proposals process. Proposals selected from the call will include interactive breakout sessions that are 50 minutes in length. Please indicate in your submission how you plan to engage the audience and deliver your content effectively.
Proposal Summary: Provide a concise description and three learning objectives (150-200 words) of your proposed session. Clearly outline the key points, main takeaways, and value your talk will bring to attendees. Make sure to emphasize the relevance, uniqueness, and timeliness of your topic. Submission Process: To be considered, please submit proposals through the Cadmium submission site. You will need to create an account to begin a proposal. Multiple proposals from the same speaker/organization are welcome. The deadline for submissions is August 29, 2023. Late submissions will not be considered. Proposal submitters will be notified of their status via email by late September 2023, and will receive further instructions regarding their participation if the proposal was selected.
Review and Selection: All proposals will be reviewed by our review committee. The submissions that include the following will be given the highest priority in the review process:
• Sessions that provide an Intermediate to advanced level of learning.
• Real-life scenarios and case studies that communicate the organization’s challenges and demonstrated strategies used to resolve them.
• Metrics that quantify the improvements and how those results can be attained by others.
• Checklists, implementation guides, sample policies, action plans, or other tools that attendees can use to implement the knowledge gained in the session.
• Concepts new to the field of health care.
• Sessions that address the needs of specific specialties.
• Solutions that can be replicated by attendees in their practices.
• Avoid promoting products or services.
The Benefit of Speaking at an MGMA Event: Confirmed speakers will receive a complimentary registration for the event. Speaking at an MGMA event is an excellent professional development opportunity that will sharpen your presentation skills and highlight your organization’s achievements. You will contribute your expertise to further your profession, network with peers and industry experts, and can earn continuing education credits.
Speaker Cancellations and Changes to Content: MGMA reserves the right to cancel a session if the speaker is unable to fulfill their commitment to speaking and/or misses important deadlines. The Content Team must approve any speaker or program changes because of the continuing education opportunities promised to our attendees.
