AAPD 2027 Call for Presentations
Do you have a topic area, treatment update, or concept that is beneficial to pediatric dentists? If you want to get more involved with AAPD and be part of the educational program, start by speaking at one of these well-attended sessions at the next Annual Session in Washington D.C., May 27-30 2027!
AAPD Presentations Submission Deadline for Sound Bites, MiniClinics, and String of Pearls is September 14, 2027 at 11:59pm EST.
Sound Bites
Lead an hour-long interactive presentation on a topic of interest to pediatric dentists or office team members (50-minute presentation with 10 minute Q&A). One Sound Bite will be held every hour from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Sunday. (One-hour time commitment per speaker)
MiniClinics
MiniClinics sessions consist of eight speakers, each with a 45-minute presentation to a larger audience, based on a clinical topic geared toward pediatric dentistry. Areas of interest include early malocclusion management, clinical techniques using new technologies, legal issues, practice management, and new developments in pediatric dentistry. MiniClinic sessions will occur on Friday and Saturday.
String of Pearls
A 15-minute presentation per speaker, up to twelve presentations per session. In this format, each presenter will bring a single idea or concept and will share it with the group. These little “pearls” provide members with a wealth of information that often can be utilized immediately. Keep your presentation focused on the topic and allow for a question or two from the audience! String of Pearls session takes place on Sunday.
Application Requirements
Pediatric Dentist: Individuals who are pediatric dentists and submit a proposal to present at an AAPD educational program, including the Annual Session, must be current AAPD member* in good standing at the time of proposal submission and must maintain their membership through the presentation of the program if selected. This requirement reflects AAPD's commitment to supporting and recognizing the contributions of its members while ensuring that members receive priority opportunities to educate their peers.

Non-Pediatric Dentist : Individuals whose primary professional discipline is outside of pediatric dentistry (e.g., other dental specialties, medicine, psychology, anesthesia, nursing, or other relevant fields) are not required to be members of AAPD to submit a proposal. AAPD welcomes expert presenters whose knowledge and experience enhance the educational value of its programs and support the AAPD's mission, regardless of membership status.

Corporate Representatives: Individuals whose primary role is to represent, market, or sell products or services on behalf of a commercial entity, including Friends of AAPD Members, are not eligible to submit proposals for scientific or educational sessions. The purpose of AAPD's educational programming is to provide independent, evidence-based continuing education and not to create opportunities for promotional presentations, product marketing, or sales activities. Corporate representatives may participate in AAPD programming through sponsorship, exhibits, industry-supported educational opportunities that comply with AAPD policies, or other approved engagement opportunities, but they are not eligible to serve through the general speaker application process.

Exceptions: Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Scientific Program Committee when doing so is determined to be in the best interest of the educational program and the AAPD.
Only online submissions will be reviewed; incomplete submissions will not be considered.
*Friends of Pediatric Dentistry Members do not qualify to submit for AAPD 2027.
Disclosures
During the submission process, and if you are accepted as a presenter, you will be asked to identify any financial interest by completing a Conflict of Interest Form. All dental goods/services financial relationships, regardless of relevance to your presentation, must be disclosed.
Presentations & Handouts
All final presentations and handouts must be submitted electronically to AAPD by April 7, 2027. AAPD must approve any handout materials for participants. Presentations will be downloaded onto one laptop for all sessions. Please note, AAPD has the right to update the submission timeline if necessary. Failure to submit by the deadline may result in cancellation of your presentation.
Compensation and Registration
All of the above-listed speaking roles are unpaid. You are responsible for your own registration costs, travel expenses, and arrangements, including air travel and hotel accommodations. This is considered a contribution to your professional industry. These session types are the perfect pathway to achieving a paid Scientific Program speaking role where hotel accommodations, flights, registration, etc. are covered. The submission/application style programs are unpaid. Thank you for your contribution to AAPD 2027.
Speakers at AAPD 2027 are strictly prohibited from accepting financial support from corporate entities or commercial interests to offset or supplement any personal expenses associated with their participation, including but not limited to registration fees, airfare, lodging, meals or other travel related costs. This policy is intended to preserve the independence and educational integrity of AAPD programming and to avoid the appearance of commercial influence or conflicts of interest.
